Gameforge finally launched version 4.5 of Aion for all European language versions, introducing the 2nd class specialisation for the Engineer. The update moreover adds 8 new instances to the South Katalam, the Katalam Underground and the upper Abyss.

When reaching level 10, players may now choose the role of the Aethertech, a well-protected tank to be found on the front lines of battle. Equipped with an Aether Key that can be used to summon their mech as well as a poweful weapon, they draw all attacks, protecting their allies from damage.
Version 4.5 also brings some new PvE content in form of 8 new instances supposed to maintain the excitement in later levels. Players between level 61 and 65 can explore 6 instances in the upper Abyss region, while The Steel Wall Bastion Battlefield awaits in South Katalam and The Rune Shield Tower can be entered in the Katalam Underground by players from level 65 onwards.
