A few weeks have passed since we last heard any news of Elvenar, but today the fantasy-themed city-building MMO from InnoGames heads off for closed beta testing on browser; mobile versions will follow at a later date. The testing will initially only comprise a modest amount of players in order to guarantee stable servers, before additional players interested in taking part will be provided with beta keys.

The German developer has decided for an uncommon setting for a city builder, letting players opt for either the human or elven starting race as they begin to build a thriving town. Elvenar focuses on city building and upgrading, with exploration of the world map and trade also being involved. The decision between Humans and Elves not only determines the appearance of the player’s town and its inhabitants, but also which units and technologies they will have recourse to. While the ambitious Humans are determined engineers, the Elves who live in harmony with nature live and breath magic.

Those who already pre-registered are advised to check out the mails for a key in order to be among the first to join the CBT. Further keys are being distributed via social media pages.
