Perfect World Entertainment has just announced that the upcoming module, Curse of Icewind Dale, for their free-to-play Dungeons & Dragons MOORPG Neverwinter is scheduled for launch on May 13 and also released the latest lore trailer in this context.
Icewind Dale is an iconic location within the Forgotten Realms and the subject of R.A. Salvatore’s Icewind Dale Trilogy. Taking place after the official Legacy of the Crystal Shard D&D Module, this version of Icewind Dale ties in heavily to the story.
Neverwinter's latest module will introduce some iconic Icewind Dale locations, including Icewind Pass, Caer-Konig and Dwarven Valley. The new zone also adds the new powerful resource Black Ice players will battle each other for to harvest and craft the mightiest gear out of it.
Furthermore, 2 new opposing groups - the Arcane Brotherhood and the Ten-Towners - will make their introduction and provide players with different quests and the ability to harvest Black Ice. They will be able to enter areas flagged for PvP to earn Black Ice at a fatser rate while running therisk of being slain by the enemy fection though.
Curse of the Icewind Dale will also bring a new PvE campaign including new quest lines and boons, as well as Heroic Encounters, new world PvE quests which can include more than 12 players at once. And finally players will also have access to a new Paragon Path for the Hunter Ranger class: The Pathfinder will open up brand new powers, class features and feasts.
