War Thunder is already available for PlayStation 4 and can be downloaded for free via the PlayStation Network (PSN). The PS4 version contains the Ground Forces expansion and enables cross-platform gameplay with PC and Mac users.
"Our daily efforts have been recognized by the community and help to explain why War Thunder has an audience of more than 7 million players battling to be top gun on our PC version, and now we're welcoming North American PS(r)4 owners to join the fight!" told Anton Yudintsev, CEO of Gaijin Entertainment. "PlayStation 4 has allowed us to create a very beautiful game, which is looking on par with most powerful computers. Also, the PlayStation Camera is a very handy device for a flight combat game - it makes head-tracking possible, which is invaluable in frantic dogfights."
There's also an exclusive "Invader" content pack available for purchase, granting PS4 gamers multiple gameplay bonuses as well as the US attack plane A-26C-45 Invader. All console users will moreover receive a unique decal for their vehicles, while PlayStation Plus subscribers will additionally be able to earn another decal and get their War Thunder premium account at a discount.
To celebrate War Thunder's release on PS4, Gaijin Entertainment will offer a free plane to all PlayStation Plus subscribers, which will become available later this month: the P-36A "Hawk" fighter, in which lieutenant Philip M. Rasmussen managed to take off in order to defend Pearl Harbor against the attacking Japanese planes.
