Travian Games has started the open beta phase for its upcoming browser game: Rail Nation. In the game players have to build and manage their own railroad company. They'll have to choose everything, from timetables to transported goods and train types in order to create a good and economically viable transportation system.

The game is divided into six eras and has a dynamic landscape map with 3D train models. Every new digital railroad tycoon develops their personal wealth and their company's prestige in direct competition with other companies. With strategic cunning, efficient routes must be planned along with comprehensive timetables for transporting over 40 different goods. Growing profits can be used  o build a growing fleet of steam, diesel or electric locomotives and different types of railcar.

The game, currently available in English and German (with more languages coming soon) will be played in rounds of 3 - 4 months and promises to offer many features that will make railroad fans happy.
