Wargaming has just communicated that their free-to-play action MMO World of Tanks will receive major enhancements thoughout 2014, including an overhauled graphics renderer to provide a more realistic gaming environment as well as a greater level of detail to vehicle models. The company plans on explaining each new feature with a series of developer diaries.
"It will be a truly transformative year for the game," stated Mike Zhivets, Producer for World of Tanks. "Enhancements planned for 2014 touch upon the very core of World of Tanks, and each of them will overhaul the look and feel of the title, inducing the tank combat experience we deliver with a whole new level of realism and immersion."
Regarding the gameplay, World of Tanks will be enriched with the highly requested Historical Battles and a new meta game functionality: Fortified Areas. And the game's physics engine will also be concerned by technical enhancements, introducing a highly responsive gaming environment, dynamic suspension, blown-off turrets and damageable small parts.
