Blizzard’s MOBA Launches Closed Beta

Blizzard has officially announced open the closed beta of Heroes of the Storm in European as well as American territories. The F2P MOBA title simultaneously receives a content update which introduces a new hero, a new battleground, a ranked play mode and lots of other things.

The newest hero to join the ranks is Thrall, Warchief of the Horde, which possesses formidable abilities such as Earthquake, Windfury and Chain Lightning. Testers may now also battle across the desert-themed battleground map Sky Temple to take control of several ancient Temples, which, as soon as they’re captured, start shooting off powerful beams of energy towards enemy structures.

Furthermore, Ranked Play (Hero League) allows for competitive, ranked matches between players of comparable party size and skill. You may queue up alone or in a party of up to 5 when reaching level 30 and owning at least 10 Heroes. The update moreover includes the new Draft game mode which allows for building a competitive team composition, countering the opponents’ picks and dominating the Battleground objectives.
