Gameforge has just announced the first content update to HEX: Shards of Fate. Titled 'The Frost Ring Arena', the new content comprises new PvE cards and a new single player campaign with more than 30 different computer-controlled opponents. Moreover, the card interface has been expanded to allow for an easier overview of decks, now featuring additional areas where players are able to put together their PvP and PvE decks.
Exclusively be available for fights against AI opponents, the newly introduced PvE cards will differ from regular PvP units and spells in regards to how the work. For example, specific cards will earn a higher damage value with each victorious duel.
The Frost Ring Arena features 4 wings, each of which consists of 4 regular opponents and 1 boss. The fact that adversaries are randomly chosen at each start from a pool of 30 normal AIs and 7 bosses in total ensures replayability. The duels against the AI opponents additionally differ in their composition from the previously seen PvP bouts, in such that certain creatures, for example, make exclusive use of cards of a specific category or draw heavily on countermagic.
When losing 3 rounds in the ring, the player's attempt to run the arena is a failure. However, players will still receive rewards in the form of rare items, cards and gold depending on how far they have managed to progress.
The publisher has also released a preview trailer of the upcoming content that you may check out here:
