The F2P PvP-oriented MMO RPG Archlord II has just received a major content update that introduces Guild Battles as well as a brand-new arena where new mob types await to be defeated in a finite amount of time to earn rewards. Webzen has also released a new video in this context, which you may watch further below to see more of this highly anticipated feature.
Titles El Dorado, the new arena opens its doors multiple times a day throughout the week, granting players a timeframe of 30 minutes to defeat hundreds of monster creatures. There won't be any encounters with the opposite faction and no level restrictions for participation either, allowing novice players and veterans alike to gain generous rewards.
This update's heart, however, probably is the Guild Battles feature that each week pits guilds belonging to the same faction against each other as they try to dominate particular territories. There will be five guild battle areas opening to guilds each week where guild members can try to take over the ownership from the defending guild. While there will only be one guild at a time defending a specific territory, members of several guilds can act as attackers. The aim is seizing a strategically important stronghold by capturing a relic located within that is protected by thick walls.
The relic can only be captured by a guild master and in case they succeed, the ownership switches and their guild is tasked with defending the territory as a new battle phase starts. The roles of attackers and defenders will switch again as soon as another guild master manages to successfully capture the relic, with victory going to the guild that controls the territory at the end of the battle. Throughout the following week, guild members will be able to use special skills and have access to discounts at NPC vendors and craftsmen within the borders of their new territory which may result in a great benefit for their future battles.
