Meeting up with Sebastian Beiler, the PR guy for Aeria games we got to talk about their fantasy based MMORPG Echo of Soul and just what new things we could expect, our answer was a new class and a new companion ap. For the new class players can brace themselves for the arrival of the Warlock, a mage-like caster that focuses on debuffs, damage over time and direct damage spells; there wasn’t that much info at hand but we should be expecting to see the Warlock towards the end of 2015.

Fortunately there was more information when it came to the new companion app that they were launching, already released for the Asian version the new localized English, French and German ap should be available from around November 2015 and it comes packed with convenient features.

By logging into the app you essentially log into your account in the game and can do things such as access your Character Info screen to check your characters, switch up the gear they are wearing, examine their stat and generally have their details at your fingertips whenever you need them. When it comes to switching around gear it ties in nicely with the Inventory system, right now it is a more robust system in the Asian version but not without its own problems, players can move around their inventory to manage it, but in the Korean version you can also trade with other players however there’s been some buggy issues and we might not find that functionality in the western/European release.

There is a variety of community focused features such as being able to upload a camera picture to your page, direct access to the community forums so that they are always at hand, and also a fully functioning friends list where players can monitor who of their friends are online and in game and chat to them without needing to be in the game themselves; super useful for trying to organize meet ups and events. In similar fashion players can also access their in game mail through the ap, not needing to log into the game directly, and can also send ingame mail off to players that are currently playing. There is now a lot more accessibility for Guilds where Guilds can keep their members updated with changes, planes for Guild activities and also any changes that may be implemented or new members joining, again adding to the larger community/social aspect to the ap.

Finally players will also see on every page a constant rolling banner that will keep them up to date of events that are coming up or currently happening in the game, so players never miss them; likewise they will be informed of sales in the cash shop, new deals, new looks and everything else they might want to know.
