STO: Artifacts Update now available
Perfect World Entertainment Inc. and Cryptic Studios have announced that the newest update for Star Trek Online, Agents of Yesterday – Artifacts, is now available. The update to the free-to-play MMORPG based on the iconic Star Trek franchise features a new episode that begins a brand new story which will carry Star Trek Online through 2017, a new Star Trek: The Original Series-themed Starbase Fleet Holding, new bridge officers and weapons, plus new modern lighting technologies that were recently featured in the console version of the game.
Agents of Yesterday – Artifacts begins with a brand-new episode, featuring a story arc that will carry Star Trek Online into the next year. Captains will be reunited with the Lukari, a warp-capable species originally introduced in Season 11 that seeks to expand their exploratory efforts. Players will accompany the Lukari on a mission to an alien solar system, where they will discover the joys of exploration, the dangers of unknown space and begin to unravel a mystery that will have long lasting consequences.
A full list of features included with Agents of Yesterday – Artifacts includes:
· New Episode – The brand-new episode featured in Star Trek Online’s latest update teams captains with the Lukari on their first mission of exploration, where they will uncover a plot in an undiscovered alien solar system that will have a ripple effect throughout the quadrant.
· A K-13 Fleet Holding – After being lost to a temporal anomaly during Agents of Yesterday, Starbase K-13 returns as part of the new Star Trek: The Original Series-themed Fleet Holding .
· Updated Lighting and Graphics – Modern lighting technologies have been incorporated to improve the overall visual quality of Star Trek Online. These lighting updates recently debuted with the game last month on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
· New Weapons and Bridge Officers – Agents of Yesterday – Artifacts introduces new Star Trek: The Original Series-themed weapons, as well as TOS Federation and Klingon bridge officers who have preserved in cryostasis since the station was first presumed lost.
