Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) has released its latest expansion, Knights of the Eternal Throne, a new story-driven expansion free to subscribers. Even though the game is free to play, in order to access to this new content update players will need to subscribe. Watch the launch trailer below.

“This year, it’s even more personal. We’ve raised the stakes for the player as they fight to seize control of the Eternal Throne and rule the galaxy,” said Producer Ben Irving. “But that’s not the end of your story. In fact, it’s just the beginning. You must be prepared to make difficult choices along the way to not only take the throne, but also fight to keep it.”

For the first-time in a Star Wars game, players will get to become ruler of the galaxy, making choices that shape the destiny of their characters and their allies.

The expansion introduces a new high-end progression system and a new type of content: Uprisings.
