The next instalment in the well-known EverQuest franchise, EverQuest Next is a massive project from Daybreak (previously SOE) you've most likely already heard of. Its unlockable classes to mix and match, permanent player-driven changes to its lore and the game world as such, which will be completely destructible, are all part of the plan to create a next-gen MMORPG. Developers seemingly want to exchange the common themepark for a really immersive, ever-evolving online world, and you can bet that we’ll find out if we can take them at their word.
EQ Next is moreover heavily connected to its twin project Landmark, rather a crafting/ creation game allowing the most talented users the chance to have their architectural creation implemented in EQ Next.
SKYFORGE
Skyforge, which will be the result of the joint effort of the Allods Team and Obsidian Entertainment, takes an approach that is a bit more classical. Featuring a compelling fantasy meets sci-fi setting as well as a combo-based action combat system that allows players to use their mouse to build up their combos and perform a variety of attacks, the title tries to appeal a fan base.
With over 10 classes to choose from, players will start out as immortals to try and become greater gods as they engage in PvP combat at small and larges scales as well as quest-based PvE content.
BATTLECRY
BattleCry Studios and Bethesda Softworks are working hard to bring us an adrenaline-fuelled gaming experience with their latest action online/ 3rd-person shooter game that allows up to a total of 32 players per match. With its unique mix of ranged and brutal melee combat, Battlecry aims at giving the term mayhem a new meaning. Classes can be upgraded and allow for different style of play while maps are designed in way that positioning, verticality and spacing will play an important role.
Two of the things that count among the game’s most intriguing features are the pretty unique artistic direction and the hypothetical futuristic setting where gunpowder is banned and heroes use kinetic energy as a weapon in combat.
HEROES OF THE STORM
With Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard has another title in their pipeline. This fast-paced action game is their take on the MOBA genre and will enable players to play some of the most popular figures of other Blizzard titles, including Tychus from Starcraft, Arthas and Thrall from Warcraft, Diablo from, obviously, Diablo, and more.
HOTS is Blizzard's attempt to attract a wider audience of players of different types by offering an enjoyable and more accessible, fresh and new MOBA gaming experience. In comparison to other games in the genre, the match length will be considerably shortened to also cater to a rather casual type of gamers. Nevertheless, you won't go without heavily team-based gameplay, interactive battlefields or customisable characters, all of which will be included at the company’s common quality level.

The command of the massive army will be shared by players belonging to the same team as they lead a historic general such as Caesar, Napoleon and others. To us, the concept of a MOBA-style real-time strategy MMO sounds pretty fascinating, so we'll definitely keep an eye out on the projects further development.
HUNT: HORRORS OF THE GILDED AGE
With Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, Crytech is developing a new sinister and gritty co-op action RPG that transports players into a fictional version of the 19th century where they will be haunted by a variety of evil creatures no one thought they would exist beyond myths and legends.
The game features twitch-based shooter mechanics and will allow players to team up with up to 3 other users to tackle co-op missions which will pit them against sinister monsters and particularly challenging bosses. The composition of your team as well as coordinating it will be vital elements in order to be successful. The entirety of characters is drawn from mythology, allowing players to slip into the role of Ares, Lilith and others, all of which deliver their own skills and play style. We're impatiently waiting for the opportunity to check this game out as it will probably be the 1st MMO of its kind and one of the 1st titles of its genre that become available to a western audience.

And yet, they claim to focus on the endgame, which is, according to them, where Echo of Soul "truly begins".

LOST ARK
It's not a shame if you belong to those who've never heard anything of Lost Ark before, which is nevertheless an actually pretty fascinating project. To get a bit closer to the idea of what this title revolves around, imagine Diablo III mixed with cinematic dungeons, quests, life skills, freely roaming boss creatures, adventures, open-world zones and a real MMORPG structure.
As of now, information is still scarce; however, the well-designed playable characters are seemingly able to provide interesting and extremely fun gameplay, and visuals and animations just look utterly breath-taking. All fervent hack & slash gamers simply devour all available gameplay footage.
KING OF WUSHU
Snail Games obviously thought another Wushu-themed title would be just fine and we actually do agree, since King of Wushu will be an action 3rd-person MOBA featuring spectacular CryEngine-powered graphics.
Slipping into the role of a Wushu martial artist, players will be able to participate in extremely fast-paced real-time combat matches, during which they will have to manually block and dodge, perform each single attack and aerial manoeuvre as they battle against enemy armies and players and assist their army in advancing. With fun gameplay, the style of which is reminiscent of such titles like Dynasty Warriors, and beautiful visiuals, King of Wushu doesn’t seem to leave much to long for.
BLESS
A bit more classic, Bless still seems pretty promising in its attempt to deliver the best possible MMORPG experience by offering strong story-driven gameplay and reinventing the story aspect in MMORPGs as seen so far to create a deeper emotional bond between characters and the world with cinematic storytelling and personal stories. The powerful Unreal Engine 3 will bring particularly photorealistic visuals to life.
The developing team is moreover really focusing on the endgame so that Bless won't be much of a gear treadmill thanks to realm vs. realm PvP battles, raids and most importantly endgame progression systems. In order to find out if this will be crowned with success, you and we'll have to stay tuned.

Armored Warfare is another Obsidian title worth to be mentioned on this list. As you explore the in-game world using vehicles or on foot and construct hideouts or even fortresses, you will be forced to fight and defend yourself with makeshift weapons as firearms are rather scarce. Remarkable touches of class like the implemented automatic voice-chat and so on aim at making the world the most immersive possible. This standalone title will offer resource collecting, tools, levels, PvE and so on, providing players with the MineCraft feeling without that blocky style.
The game allows players to take their virtual home with them to each world they go to, and to freely share and sell their creations, which, in case they’re really well done, have the chance to become part of EQ Next as the title is released.

With Gigantic, Motiga is trying to answer the question of what would be the result of mixing MOBA gameplay with FPS action and melee combat. This new fast-paced, team-based action MOBA features pretty compelling customisable characters, objective-based gameplay and a one-of-a-kind graphical style.
The premise of the game is to kill the opponents' huge guardian creature which requires the entire team and other creatures summoned by players throughout the match. Those guardians accompany their advancing teams, altering the terrain and destroying everything standing in their way, which makes for a dynamic and particularly interesting battlefield.

Developer Sandbox Interactive takes a competitive approach to the genre, delivering several old-school hardcore features seldom available in modern role-playing MMOs. So be prepared for a player-driven economy, the ability to construct your own settlements and cities, a class-free system, full loot and much more.
Each in-game item and building will be player-created and players will also be able to destroy and rebuild cities. Full loot and the need to cooperate in order to survive in an immersive player-created world with a real economy driven by crafters and traders is hard to believe, isn't it? At least we are a bit scared, but thrilled as well, impatiently waiting to find out whether Albion Online could become the home to all UO enthusiasts looking for something new.
WARHAMMER 40.000 ETERNAL CRUSADE
