WEBZEN has announced that its free MMOFPS Arctic Combat would be the theatre of a European online tournament in the ESL (Electronic Sports League).

This August 16th (GMT), the registration for the Arctic Combat ESL Europe tournament will start allowing players around Europe to participate in this event. The preliminaries for the event are scheduled to start on August 26th (GMT), which will determine the top two teams that will meet at the finals. The finals will take place on the September 15th (GMT) to decide who the first champions of Europe will be.

Jihun Lee, Head of Global Publishing, said, “Webzen is preparing various e-sports events with the start of the first ESL tournament and plan to also hold more in North America.” Also he said, “Through the previous beta test, we have focused on localization and development for the enjoyment of the upcoming closed beta.”
