En Masse Entertainment is pleased to announce the upcoming closed PC beta test of Battleplans, a new real-time strategy game (RTS) for PC and mobile devices that focuses on battle tactics instead of button clicks. Offering a unique twist on the popular RTS genre, Battleplans splits offensive battles and defensive planning into two distinct phases of the game. Players lead attacks on resource-rich territories controlled by NPCs or players and then devise comprehensive defense strategies to maintain control of those conquered holdings when other players attack in their absence. Players can study replays of these epic battles to help them refine their defense plans and thwart future incursions.
Sign-ups for the closed PC beta test open. Invitations will go out later this month, with the game targeted for release later this spring.
Battleplans sets itself apart from other RTS titles by using simple, intuitive controls that allow players to focus on making quick decisions in the heat of battle instead of navigating endless menus. The game also separates battle decisions from planning decisions, so players don’t have to master both aspects at the same time while also dealing with the pressures of PvP combat.
“Battleplans is a great strategy game for players interested in actually controlling the units they send into combat. It provides engaging gameplay but isn’t bogged down by micromanagement,” said Chris Lee, En Masse CEO. “From the first time you play, Battleplans is a joy to pick up and learn. Winning strategies come down to anticipating opponent’s plans, then outsmarting them.”
Key features for Battleplans include:
· REAL-TIME TACTICS — Make decisions quickly that turn the tide of battle.
· COMPETITIVE PLAY — Dominate the map. Plan, attack, and defend on your schedule.
· INTUITIVE CONTROLS — Easy to learn and fun to master. Quick-thinking beats quick fingers.
· CROSS-PLATFORM FUN — Attack on your tablet. Defend on your phone. Plan on your PC. It’s your choice.
· PLAN YOUR BATTLES — Choose from a mix of unique heroes and units for both attack and defense.
Developed by C4M, Battleplans will be published by En Masse Entertainment for PC, iOS, and Android devices later this spring. Players interested in getting early access to the game can sign up now for the closed PC beta test, which will begin later this month.
“We’ve only been working with En Masse for a few short months, but it already feels like they have always been there with us,” said C4M CEO Mathieu Castelli. “We’re all huge RTS players here at C4M, and we’ve put our hearts and souls into creating a game that can introduce a new generation to this wonderful genre we love so much. En Masse Entertainment’s track record of building vibrant gaming communities was a natural fit for helping us attain that goal.”
