We couldn’t leave the Gamescom without stopping at the booth of Perfect World and see which were the latest news about Neverwinter. At the stand we were welcomed by Maikel Van Dijk, PR Manager of Perfect World Europe, which spoke to us about the latest changes for the game.

The main new is of course the newly-launched module (or expansion) called Tyranny of Dragons in which players face the Dragon Cult, which ensures lots of battles against the dragons scattered throughout the game’s map.

This expansion also adds a new class, the Scourge Warlock. This new class is perfectly polished and finished, and its skills are very eye-catching and innovative; its role is mainly to do damage and weaken its rivals, so it is very useful in any group.

Another novelty is a new playable race, the Dragonborn one of the most popular non-basic races, whose appearance is impressive, provided in part by its draconic blood, which gives them a body covered in scales and hand with claws. This race, like the rest has its own racial bonuses.

Mikael also spoke about the new heroic encounters, pets and mounts, a new Dungeon, and new skirmishes, but what most caught our attention was the new artifact gear. Previously in the game, the characters had artifact slots where they could put artifacts, which provides them powerful abilities and attributes. The best thing of these artifacts is that you can level them up, so you don't have to search for new more powerful artifacts. To level up these artifacts you can feed them with pieces of equipment that you get and won’t use.

Now instead of getting specific artifacts, you can get gear pieces that are artifacts, for example get can get an artifact belt and level it up until becomes it one of the most powerful belts in the game. Some of these objects are accessible from the beginning, while others will have to be purchased in the game’s shop, with game coins or real money.
