My.com and Obsidian Entertainment have provided us with a developer diary video as well as in-depth details on the immortal dwellers of Aelion and their personal orders in their upcoming fantasy MMORPG Skyforge.
In Skyforge, every character aspires to become a deity and is even able to strike fear into the hearts of their enemies and awe into the souls of mortal citizens before becoming a god. Soon after starting their game, players will learn that the grateful inhabitants of Aelion have erected a statue in their honour, which can be seen in the Hall of Greatness in the capital where a small crowd of enthusiastic followers awaits them as well. These mortals shouldn’t be neglected as they provide a third of a character’s might.
Some of the believers, the so-called adepts, don’t just worship the player but are willing to do deeds in their name. They have special talents and capabilities for solving all sorts of problems. So whatever trouble befalls Aelion, players will most likely find an adept able to deal with it.
Managing your own order is a troublesome but fascinating activity and actually a game within the game. Gods that pay attention to their adepts will not just be loved but also rewarded with the best gifts, the richest temples and the most exciting and honourable deeds performed in their name. Players are able to aspire to greatness, but shouldn’t forget about the mortals as the way they treat them determines what type of god they become.
