Elite Dangerous has launched "The Commanders" today, a new content update for PC and Xbox One introducing the new multicrew co-op mode, the awaited avatar creator, a new camera suite, Asteroid Bases and new ships. Watch the trailer below. Those who have a season pass, can enjoy the Commanders update at no additional cost.

Additionally, for free, the game has also received another update adding improvements to the mission system so players can progress through new questlines.

Multicrew co-op allows players to share a ship and assume one of three specialized roles: pilot, gunner and fighter. These special ships give players additional control.

The new camera suite gives players control over a third-person camera in order to be able to take screenshots or create movies.
