Novaquark has just launched a Kickstarter Campaign for its sci-fi sandbox MMORPG Dual Universe, aiming to remain independent with the support of the players. Watch below the new gameplay trailer.
Initially Novaquark seeks to reach $500,000 to complete the development, and in exchange those who decide to back the proyect will get access different rewards, such as access to the Alpha or the Beta, un art book or the original soundtrack.
“Because with innovation comes risk, most publishers don’t take the chance to support creative projects like Dual Universe. The game is a revolutionary take on the MMO genre, enough to make it difficult to finance by conventional means. For the past three years we have been funded privately, keeping our independence to develop ground-breaking technology”, says Jean-Christophe Baillie, founder and president of Novaquark. “To complete our vision, we need the community’s support for Dual Universe, in order to remain independent and move forward in the direction of the game we all want to make. The more backing we will have, the stronger we will be, and the more independent we can remain.”
Dual Universe is expected to enter Alpha testing in 2017, and it features a single-shard universe with no instances or transitions. In the game, players will be able to modify the world and to create structures, such as buildings and orbital stations, and spaceships.
