Wargaming has made a surprising announcement: World of Warships will receive new content inspired by naval-themed sci-fi manga 'Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova-'.  The manga takes place in a future where the levels of the seas have risen, reducing drastically the amount of habitable land in the world.

The game is going to receive a new game mode with special missions, special skins for vessels and special themed port to dock the fleet inspired on the manga. With the new special missions we can get rewards based on the hi-tech reincarnations of the warships featured in the manga. We can also will be able to pilot Kongo-class battleships from the manga as well as other vessels that will be added in the future.

These new ships will have Mental models (AI avatars) based on the manga. In addition, the voice of "Iona", the main protagonist of the manga will also be present in World of Warships.
