Nexon America has released the second part of MapleStory's Tempest update, which introduces a new playable character, Luminous.

Luminous sealed away the Black Mage, but before the Black Mage was locked away, a sliver of the mage’s dark energy entered Luminous’ body, causing him to fall into a deep slumber. Luminous has awoken from his deep slumber and the war between light and darkness continues within.

As Luminous learns to control the power of the Black Mage that resides within, he depends on Vieren and Laina. With their help, Luminous learns to wield the powers of both Light and Dark and protect those he loves along with the rest of the Maple World.

In addition to the new character, MapleStory is bringing back Happyville, MapleStory's Christmas-themed town.
