Trion Worlds has announced the first of dynamic worldwide events for RIFT. The battle for Telara intensifies as the world changes with the invasions coming from the Plane of Death, engulfing the planet, giving to the Ascended heroes the opportunity to be part of this important moment in the history of the game. On March 30, players will witness the true power of Regulos the Destroyer, and the RIFT world will never be the same.

This strong upgrade comes just one month after the game's launch on 1 March, as the more aggressive campaign to expand content ever released for a new MMORPG.

Invasions and unique rewards
Starting next Wednesday, Alsbeth the Discordant begins massive invasions throughout Telara, sending legions of liches, ettins and gravemakers to fight the Ascended. Over about a week, the participating players of all levels will fight against the invaders to gain hundreds of new items, including exclusive rewards, such as a Spectral Horse and Transmogrifying Disguise, which turns the Ascended into zombies. But be careful: once the rifts have been sealed, these objects are gone forever.

The River of Souls
If the Ascended succeed in their efforts to roll back the invasion, they will travel to the "River of Souls", a round area on the edge of the Plane of Death, where Alsbeth the Discordant revives the defeated to include them in the Regulos Army. Heroes, Guardian and Defiant, will have to fight their way through the hordes to reach Alsbeth, and make she pay for their heinous crimes.
