Ubisoft has just announced an enhanced battle system as well as a new PvP mode for The Settlers Online, which players are already able to test as a preview version on the game’s international test server. These 2 major features are supposed to be integrated into the final version throughout the upcoming winter.

The enhanced battle system will allow players for the very first time to directly influence the outcome of a fight by changing attacking units as they watch the battle on the map.

The so-called PvP expeditions will enable players to conquer especially generated adventure islands, which must be defended against other players. This mode is accompanied by new buildings including the combat weapon smith and the combat academy as well as 6 new weapon and 7 new unit types.
