At this year’s Gamescom, we also headed to the Gaijin booth to gather some new information on Star Conflict, the company’s space MMO that allows players to use their own starships to fight against each other in various game modes, which also include PvE missions.
We’d made an appointment with on of the game’s devs who told us about Star Conflict’s present state and what was about to come. Those who start out in the game may enjoy the completely overhauled ship types and roles; the formerly poor choice between only three different types has now been enlarged to a total of nine, which allows for further specialisation as well as more variety on the battlefield.
Upon entering the first battle, we immediately noticed that lighting and shaders have also been reworked, so that the game now looks even better than before. And, of course, there were new ships and maps as well. Having fought a few fights, the developers introduced us to the content of the Invasion update, which, in addition to new games modes, also provides players with territory warfare and clans and allows them to battle against each other in order to conquer new territory, expand and get profit out of it.
Moreover, crafting has found its way into Star Conflict and players are now also able to acquire materials by exploring areas and salvaging wrecks while having to deal with some pirate enemies. Once they have bought a blueprint, they will be able to craft that specific item whenever they have the required materials at their disposal.
And finally, the major feature of the Invasion patch is a PvE mode that encourages players to work together in order to fight off foes that have come to try and take control of the entire universe. For the time being, both PvE and PvP fans will be kept engaged for quite some time by the variety of new things Star Conflicts boasts at the moment.
