R2Games has just communicated that their upcoming browser-based action shooter MMO, Zombies Ate My Pizza, will enter closed beta testing today, March 10 at 07:00 PDT. The testing phase will conclude on March 19 at 19:00 PDT.

Developed by Funova Technology, Zombies Ate My Pizza is a top-down shooter set in a post-apocalyptic and pizza-obsessed world. Mankind is infected with a lethal virus turning people into soulless, ravenous zombies and it's up to the player to stop them.

The title offers two unique character classes to select between before enganging in intense action, fierce events and varied missions to gather supplies, clear invaded areas and fight against powerful bosses. The character design is inspired by anime and key features include daily missions, a Superpower system, basic training in 3v3 battle mode as well as player-run Militias.
